I was at school for 20 minutes this morning, chowing down on a yummy muffin before our faculty meeting started, when my principal told me that I should go home and go to sleep. She had heard me blowing my nose when I arrived and she said she could tell I wasn't myself. I was the last one to arrive (I'm always the first one at school in the morning, showing up 45 minutes before we're supposed to arrive), I skipped mass (it was optional), and I guess I looked sick. I tried to protest but she insisted I wouldn't miss anything that they couldn't tell me about on Monday, and she sent me home.
So now I'm back in my pjs, curled up in bed. I downed some NyQuil and I'm all set to watch Kickin' It Old Skool and then I'll either finish reading Atonement or attempt to nap. I don't want to be sick for the weekend in the Poconos. That would be highly irritating.
NamelessBird is sitting on my chest, nibbling at my nose. Now he's nibbling at the laptop. He likes to hang out with his horrible mommy who hasn't named him yet.
This cold has had me in a fog all week. The other day during Religion I was talking about how God doesn't call us up on the phone to talk to us. We have to listen carefully and He might talk to us through other people. So I started talking about how sometimes during the homily at mass the priest might say something that is kind of an answer to something I've been thinking about. All of a sudden, my mind just blanked and I stood there and said, What was I talking about?
One of my boys replied, I have no idea.
That cracked me up, so I'm laughing and trying to figure out why I was talking about the homily. It took us a few moments to go back over my train of thought until I figured out what I was talking out. But I seriously couldn't remember what I was saying and how I got on that topic, but I knew it connected somehow to what we had just read in the Religion book. My favorite part was the boy's honest reply to my question.
Priest arrested for stalking Conan. I heard this on the news last night and my comment was Well, at least he's interested in someone his own age...
