We had some drama today in school. We were painting outside for Religion before lunch and headed back inside to wash our hands in the bathroom. One of my girls comes running out to inform me that someone had gotten paint on the back of one of the stall doors. I went into the bathroom to investigate. One of my lovelies had put both hands on the back of the door and dragged her hands down, leaving behind two light but noticeable smears of pink (at least she had gotten most of the paint off before she did it).
I asked the girls who did it. No one fessed up so I told them they'd all be sent home on yellow (they color a calendar each day to let their parents know how their behavior was: green = good day; yellow = some problems; red = really bad day and is accompanied by a note home). Then the girls started randomly accusing other girls and I told them unless they saw that person do it with their own eyes, I don't want to hear it.
I gave them until a certain time to come and confess or else all the girls would have to go home on yellow. I even read them a story about this boy who told a lie and it got out of hand (the other 2nd grade teacher came in while I was reading and laughed when she saw the title as she had heard about my drama). And I was all about telling the girls that what happened was a sin and they'd have to remember to confess it the next time they went to confession (sometimes I really love working in a Catholic school). When the time rolled around and I told all the girls they were going home on yellow, one girl came over to me, tears rolling down her cheeks, and confessed to doing it. So she went home on yellow and all the other girls were happy.
Aren't you jealous of the drama I have to deal with?
My MP3 player has been a bitch and a half the past couple days. It's not working and I've been forced to listen to the radio and old mix tapes that have been in my car for a really long time. I think they've melted and frozen back together because the sound quality is just horrible.
Wait! It may actually be behaving now! We shall see when I let it charge what happens. *crosses fingers*
