Gonna paint your wagon, gonna paint it fine...
I have had the Paint Your Wagon DVD from Netflix on my bedside table for over a month and I only just now found time to watch it. It's 2 hours and 45 minutes long. I had no idea what to expect. I rented it because of The Simpsons spoof. I hadn't realized this was a real movie until semi-recently. I had thought The Simpsons had made it up.
Anyway, I'm halfway through it and it's entertaining and amusing, although I am a bit disturbed by the fact I think Clint Eastwood is sort of attractive in this movie. But it was made in 1969, so he was much younger. It's still weirding me out though. He did his own singing and I read on IMDb.com's message board that he recorded an album. Ha! But his voice isn't that bad.
In conclusion, I love musicals.
