Blockbuster was out of Full Frontal last night so I rented Ringu. I have to watch The Ring again in order to competently compare the two, but right now I think The Ring is better. Maybe it’s because I saw that first before I saw the original, but I don’t think so. And it’s not because it’s subtitled. I have no problems with subtitles. I am the master of subtitles. I think the video in The Ring is better than the one in Ringu and there were other things I didn’t really like about Ringu but I won’t mention them in case anyone actually wants to watch it. As for my favorite part of the movie, near the end involving a television, a guy and the video, I have to watch the two versions one right after the other, because I’m torn. It was delightfully creepy in Ringu but I need to watch The Ring’s scene again to see which I like better. But it is such a good part. Excellent special effects.
Okay, I’ll stop babbling on and on about comparing those two movies as I’m sure it’s boring.
My sister and I are seeing The Guru this afternoon. The preview looked amusing, but I highly doubt this movie is going to be any kind of good quality movie. I predict it’ll be like Old School, horrid crap and I will never get those minutes of my life back. But you never know. Maybe the one and a half stars the critics gave it was just a joke.
Apparently my brother and his entourage are coming down this weekend, either tonight or tomorrow morning. I’m hoping tonight so I can see them all day tomorrow instead of just a few hours because I have to babysit at 6 tomorrow. And I have to factor in all the homework I have to do for next week that I told myself I’d do during Spring Break to get it out of the way, but of course I didn’t do anything. Maybe I’ll read Shakespeare’s sonnets sometime today.
