My life for three whole months has really begun to revolve around writing. It's the culmination of a revolution I took on in November of 2005, when I first did National Novel Writing Month, along with having a newly supportive family. And I've been loving it. Writing nearly daily -- save Tuesday and Wednesdays (too much have-tos to be able to write on those days). I've surrounded myself with a community of writers and I've generally made my art a priority. I'm truly creating a literarly life, one small baby step at a time.
And I was off to a good start for this year's NaNo and I'm not sunk yet -- but my 10 year old daughter is even beating me in word count. I have a write-in on Saturday and I'm afraid that I will be wholly embarassed.
going to try to covertly write here at work, but it's been so busy, it won't be easy. meanwhile, i know the building we're in is a 'sick building' and it's getting worse. The minute I walk through the door I start sneezing, get itchy, my eyes start watering and somedays blistering. But the managmeent claims that the building air quality is fine. IN fact, they say, it's cleaner than outdoors. Bah! It makes my head fuzzy and I know my cubemates are tired of hearing me sneeze, blow my noise and generally sound miserably snuffly. I need to own stock in Puffs. I've gone through 3 boxes in as many weeks and I'm only here at this office 3 days a week.
