Have just witnessed a 2-cruiser, 2-SUV Hammer 5-0 takedown of swf on U.James. Acknowledged the white trash implications of turning it into a spectator event, decided not to sing out the theme song to "Cops," narrowly decided against standing on a toppled mailbox for a better view, and went back inside the house. Shamed to admit that first eager thoughts included figuring how said event could be incorporated into classroom time purely for an exploitative increase in credibility with Jr. Police students. Regained moral stability and contemplated turning it into an "The Ethics of Police Takedown Spectatorship" lecture. Realized that said lecture would alienate more than earn credibility and would likely fuel facist wave of jeering. Which would be hard to take at 9:00 on a Monday. Not all Police Jr. students are facisty, but the ones that are are exemplary jeerers, even at that distasteful hour.
