I can has weekend yet?

I don't even know where to begin. This week started last week and hasn't stopped yet. Sweetie and I went apple- and pumpkin-buying last weekend in North Georgia with a couple of friends, and we even attempted hiking for the first time in forever. It was fun and the weather and fall foliage were gorgeous. Our fridge now overfloweth with apples, and we have several squash and a pumpkin to eat as well.

I should probably just set up a cot at KSU's Visual Arts building, except that I like to see my husband and need to do laundry once in a while. ;) I was there Monday, Wednesday, and will be there tomorrow for two classes each day. Had a couple other bookings elsewhere, too. Somehow I have managed to eat, shower, and sleep on a somewhat regular basis, although it hasn't been easy.

This has been the week from Hell with anything that involves schedules or transportation. We had scheduled for a handyman to do some house repairs on Monday-Tuesday, but he had a family emergency and will be here next week instead. I rushed over to KSU on Monday for a class, only to realize after walking into the classroom that I was three hours early (and had written down the wrong time for six consecutive class sessions!) That throws my Wednesdays into panic mode for the next few weeks: now I have a mere 45-minute window to drive from KSU to Dunwoody (about 25 miles) at rush hour to get to my next session. Absolutely no time to spare, and the last 3 miles is a traffic nightmare. Oy. I also had written a Dr.'s appointment down incorrectly months ago, arriving a week early for next week's checkup. All week I have had trouble remembering what day it was. I hope this trend changes soon....

In homebrew news, we still have to rack our beer into a secondary or a keg, add more hops, and chill/carbonate it. We'll be brewing a barleywine (a huge-ass beer called Old Stoner that should end up around 12% abv) this weekend and still need to get the ingredients. I got a yeast starter going but it needs to be stepped up before it can handle fermenting such a monster beer. That was supposed to happen tonight, but we kinda crashed after dinner and watched The Office instead.

I think we're supposed to go walking with friends on Saturday? As well as check out a cool wine store. And pick up ingredients to brew. Then Sunday we'll brew. Monday it starts all over again, but at least I'm going out to eat that evening. Yay!
