My EeePC is running next to me blissfully ignorant of the drama it was just involved in. I had declared it dead half an hour ago after dropping it on a tiled floor and having spent the next two hours unsuccessfully trying to get it past the boot screen. Turns out all it needed was a few more minutes on that frozen message "recovery required on readonly file system" and then it would continue normally. The whole ordeal of loss and revival was a very uncomfortable experience.
I spend so much time with this computer, it was very silly of me to be so absent minded about its wellbeing. It's my loyal little assistant and it deserves to be taken care of. I want it to stay alive for another three years, dead pixel and all.
