I t seems that the guys at City of Heroes (I refuse to spell it Heros) are producing content faster than a bunch of randy Tribbles. In the last few months they have been working on a lot!
The ‘Who will die?’ story arc has been expanding, with the death of Statesman’s daughter and the revelation that Statesman will be the one to die. This will cause MAJOR changes in the game and its story. If Lord Recluse doesn’t take the opportunity to invade Paragon immediately, it will only because the Battalion villain group will show up. The Statesmans taskforce and Lord Recluse Strike Force will have to be removed or changed and many missions will have to be altered. Im guessing a memorial to him will be erected in a zone too.
Dark Astoria is the next zone for a revamp, being massively altered from a silent hill type city zone to a demonic wasteland. In the run up to the final fight with Praetorian Leader, Marcus Cole, his granddaughter has decided to make and appearance and summons a huge demon, making Astoria into a solo end game area. I think they’re doing something with the Bloody bay area too.
New power sets have been released, such as Time manipulation, Beam Rifles and Titan weapons. More powers are in the pipeline, with Dark Assault, Dark Control, Staff Fighting and Beast Mastery coming very soon. Also Stalkers and Gravity controllers are getting a slight overhaul.
Travel powers are becoming more diverse, with the main travel power becoming available at level 4, but improved powers later in the list (Burnout, Afterburner, Spring attack and Team Teleport), they’ve also released a few funky powers such as Rocket Board, Steam Jump-pack, Flying carpet and Prairie Dog shapeshift power.
New cosies have been popping up, such as the Gunslinger set, Steampunk, Halloween, Carnival of Light and Fire & Ice theme sets. With the incarnate end game forever expanding, new costume pieces and auras have been made available.
New incarnate trials include the TPN News, Minds of Madness and The Underground, all of which continues the story of the fight against Preatoria by the members of Primal Earth.
I have 2 new characters to add to my roster, the villainous Abscess (Rad/Poison) and Melodrama, who will be my Dark/Dark controller when its released.
