The realm of Themyscira rejoiced. Their Princess had been rightfully returned to the throne. Emperor Luthor had been apprehended and Clark of Krypton had the power to cast him out to the faraway and inescapable Phantom Zone, while Ares had been banished forever from the land by Hera herself. And, most fortunately, the Kingdom of Gotham, once a bitter enemy, was now a most dear friend.

The celebration began soon after the battle ended and continued for three days and three nights, with no end in sight. Wine overflowed at every table and from every cup and music played from every corner of the land. None celebrated with more merriment than the Princess herself.

"Dance with me, my love," she said, her laughter full of mirth as she stood and led Steve by the hand. He was not the best dancer, but there was nothing he could refuse his Angel, especially on such an occasion.

Many others joined in the dancing. King Bruce was one of the few who did not. He sat in silence, but a happy expression made its way to his face as he watched his partner, Clark, dance with one of the Princess' Generals. Clark moved with an easy grace belied by his massive and powerful frame. These thoughts led to other more intimate ones and Bruce could not wait to get Clark all alone in their guest room.

Since Selina was still working - attempting to decipher the scrolls Luthor left behind - with two of her best emissaries, Cassandra and Stephanie, Dinah felt a little guilty dancing with Clark. But, she quickly remembered Selina had made her promise to rejoice in their victory and celebrate enough for the both of them. Thus, she continued to dance with him and others until she noticed the one Prince of Gotham who wasn't enjoying himself.

Prince Timothy wasn't dancing, drinking, or partaking in any of the festivities. Dinah walked over and took a seat beside him.

"What ails you, young Prince?"

Timothy quickly changed his expression, making himself look only slightly less dejected.

"Not a thing, General," he attempted a friendly smile, "I am... simply fatigued."

"From battle?' Dinah asked, giving him an easy out.

Timothy glanced over at his brothers. Richard was dancing with the redhead in the General's army. Roy was his name. Jason was laughing and drinking with Princess' Diana's younger sister, Donna. But of all the people present, there seemed to be no one for him. He sighed before looking at Dinah again.

"Yes," he lied, "I am weary from battle."

Just then, Selina walked in. Dinah wasn't sure why the look on her face sent a shiver running down her spine, but it did.

"Excuse me," Dinah said, reluctantly leaving the young Prince alone again. She walked over to where Selina was whispering something to the Princess. The Princess in turn could not hide her surprise. Dinah did not reach them in time to hear the reason, but she knew something wasn't right.
...

King Bruce and Clark lay in each other's arms, completely sated from their earlier lovemaking. Bruce watched Clark as he slept. He ran his fingers through Clark's hair, content beyond words just to lay there with him. He only wished they were in Gotham instead.

Though they were treated with the greatest respect, as any personal guest of the Princess would be, Bruce wished to return home. He did not like to leave Gotham alone for too long. Now that Luthor and Ares had been stopped, he hoped they would leave in a day or two.

Bruce was beginning to succumb to sleep himself when there was a knock at the door. Careful not to wake Clark, he slipped out of bed and grabbed his robe. The Princess' Generals stood there.

"May we speak with you?" Dinah asked.

At his silence, Selina added, "It is a matter of great importance. It concerns Clark of Krypton."
...

Two weeks later, the search party returned. Princess Diana had been very anxious, the worry leaving her unable to sleep even with Steve at her side. She feared the worst and dreaded what might befall her Generals.

"You need your rest, Angel."

She looked over at him, smiling weakly. "I will try," she said, hoping he'd believe her enough to sleep himself, for she could not shut her eyes and not see the horrors she imagined.

But the wait was soon over when her Generals returned fourteen days after they departed. When they walked in to the throne room and Diana caught sight of the woman walking with them, she ran from the throne to embrace her.

"Mother!"

"Diana!"

"I have missed you, Mother."

"And I, you, my child."

Apparently, Emperor Luthor had not been pleased enough to collect nations, he collected people as well.

"But how is this possible?" Diana asked. "I was told you died in the Wayne Palace."

Hippolyta wiped her daughter's tears. "The King believed as his advisers told him, but they lied to him. No one knew they worked for the Emperor."

"I am so happy you're here," Diana cried.

"As am I, but there is more. Come, we must share our good fortune." Hippolyta approached Clark of Krypton. "I have great news for you," she told him.

"Your Majesty?"

Queen Hippolyta smiled, then motioned to the Generals. In walked two individuals. One, Clark recognized instantly, the other had changed with the many years he had been absent from home. He experienced wonder, relief, and such gratefulness as he had never known; he thought he'd lost them both forever.

"Linda! Conner!"

Linda ran to her cousin, embracing him with all the strength she could muster. Tears filled Clark's eyes, hers as well. For so many years he had believed he was the only living survivor of Krypton. He looked up to see Conner still standing near the entrance. Without letting go of Linda, Clark walked over to him.

"You may not remember me, you were very young when the Emperor waged war on our kingdom, but I am your cousin," Clark explained, "And I have missed you very much."

He hugged the young man and then the young woman again, finally embracing both at the same time.

Everyone watched the reunions, some with tears of joy in their eyes, others with smiles as wide as ships, but all with elation in their hearts. King Bruce smiled openly for once. Knowing how much it hurt and saddened Clark to be the only Kryptonian left, he could not help but do so. At his right, Prince Timothy smiled as well. Of course, the Prince was delighted with the family reunions, but he could not look away from Clark's cousin, Conner, who had the most handsome face and the bluest eyes Timothy had ever seen.

...

A few days later, when all the commotion had reached its peak, then quieted some, Diana took Steve aside.

"I wanted to discuss something with you," she said.

"Of course," he replied, "Anything you need-"

"Please," she pressed her fingers to his lips. "Allow me to finish. As you are well aware, I had refused to become Queen. Not only because that was my mother's place, but also because once I did, I would be forced to marry. This entire war began because I would not accept Emperor Luthor's proposal, but now he is gone and my mother has returned... I am incredibly happy, especially because now that she is here, she seems to want to make up for all of those years we lost. We have been talking and... she wishes me to marry."

Steve's smile faltered, but quickly, he schooled his expression for her. He was not a prince and he knew this day would come, but he loved his Angel far too much to let her see the pain it caused him to know he would lose her.

"And what has Her Majesty decided?" he asked, keeping his voice light while his heart was beating furiously in his chest.

Diana's smile grew and she caressed the side of his face. "Was there ever any doubt it would be you, my love?"

He blinked in surprise. "I don't understand."

"The Queen wishes me to be happy. And I explained to her I could only be happy with you."

A mixture of emotions overtook him. Steve wanted to cry and laugh, but he did neither and kissed her instead. Diana kissed him back.

She couldn't believe her good fortune. The gods had been more than generous and finally, finally everything had fallen into place.
