Rant of the Night...Part 2

Alright, I've been meaning to do this for a while, so here it goes: For everyone that really cares about my opinion on You and me and Everyone We Know (and that would make maybe no one), here it is.

1. I actually kind of liked this movie.
2. I saw a point to it. Actually, I saw two seperate plots and goals in the movie.
3. The first one (and the one that I like the most) is the one man's problem. In the beginning of the movie, he says that "he is ready for all of these amazing things to happen. He wants to be swept off of his feet." That right there sets up the entire mood for the movie, because it is kind of giving the world permission for outstanding and amazing things to happen. This isn't like amazing things in hero movies where a villian pops out and the hero is expected to save the day, but it's amazing for a normal person. I mean, a girl is trying to sweep him off of his feet like in the movies, and he won't go for it, even though he obviously likes her. That is the conflict of the plot, him trying to get over his fear of the amazing.
4. The second one kind of reminds me of the movie Slacker, where everyone is connected in one way or another. It's a corny concept to me, but I think the director connected everyone in the movie in one way or another. He even ends up wrapping a God-like character in the end (the man tapping away time) just to make sure that the audience knows that this little coicidences and quirks in life are just "to pass the time". This is the plot that I don't like as much, because it's less like a movie and more like an experiment to me.
5. The last thing that I really liked about this movie was that all of these far-out occurances (for instance, ))<>(( ) can be taken on a symbolic level to use in real-life situations. I like that in a movie, because it reminds me of Lord of the Flies or something similar to that.

So there we go. Sorry, I just felt like analyzing tonight.
