while I am happy to have finished a draft of more of this freakishly unending fic, it's not long enough for a complete update so I can't post it and even though I know what happens next and where a good cutoff point is and that it's probably only a couple thousand words away... I just can't get started. it's really hard writing in a vacuum. D:

also I'm kind of terrified the reason I haven't heard back from anyone about it is that it's really as boring as I thought it was. :|

I already have sort of a weird complex about, like, imposing things on people that they don't want and this is not really helping. sorry, guys, it's the only way I'm going to get it finished (see above, re: really hard writing in a vacuum), so.

commentjacking to tell you that your spy au with the davids and cesc? is the only WIP i read. (also the reason i avoid WIPs is because i'm impatient re: waiting for updates. but with you and this fic i know it's worth it!) (also full disclosure i read a lot of WIPs once they're finished and just put massive comments at the end. it's not about discounting the fic just because it's a WIP it's just that i'd rather sit down and read it/get the full effect of it all at once. i plan on rereading yours once you finish it and leaving a massive comment because i'm pretty sure 90% of what i've commented on it so far is ;alkjsdf;lkasdfjkak;lsdjfI LOVE YOU/THIS A;LSDJF;LAKS;DLKJ jajaja)

What a compliment. :D No, I totally see what you mean about impatience -- I guess I'm just used to reading WIPs, ever since early fandom days. actually it may be a different manifestation of impatience, which is not wanting to wait until they're done. ;) and length has something to do with it, too -- if it's, say, a 2000 word update every months or something, I probably wouldn't try and read along either. (and please, I love your comments, they are amaaaaaazing.)

(hilariously, this draft is actually 7300 words... but every other update so far as been at least 10,000. I'll be the first to admit it is unhealthy and unnatural.)

NO I UNDERSTAND. this is like. exponentially more massive than anything I have ever attempted before. it also means that it's not exactly beautiful prose, which is relatively quicker to write. I completely understand and 4,000 is a GOOD LENGTH.
