I had my first day of work yesterday, and so far, I really really really like it. I love it, actually. I got a pretty quick tutorial in how the process works:
• you get assigned a project or rather, projects (I have three pending right now)
• you do the project, pretty much on your own (someone came in three times to ask me if I had any questions, but that was it)
• you show your proof to Amy, who then shows it to Margie if there aren't any problems. The proof reader is involved in it somewhere, too.
• you move on to another job if that job gets okayed, and it gets printed, and you get a sample.
Sometimes, there'll be a "launch" meeting when someone comes to the department with a new job. But most things I'm working on have already been launched and have been waiting for me or someone else to get here to do them.
Yesterday, I made a brochure for the Master's if Philosophy program. Now I'm making them a poster. And then I'll make the Bachelor's of Philosophy brochure. And then I'll work on the UAC's calendar of events and table tents.
I really like being left alone and being busy. I just turn on the music and workity work (mostly, aside from doing this.) It's great. Oh. Hello Meat Puppets song on my pandora. I kinda like you.
weeeeeee.
