She resisted the urge to sneer, oh as it was habit. The current Queen of Ebon Askavi was one of those people it wouldn't do to be terribly rude to. White King Byakuran, who no more wore the White that he waved around than Mukuro wore the Purple Dusk hanging around his neck, but they were all liars here. ]

Liars they were, but even more so tall tales that listened through the ears of elegance. Dressed in white truths and simple shapes, Byakuran nudges a sweet into his mouth. It melts into a courteous lump of sugar and spice, while he makes a gesture, quite innocent of course, towards Mukuro.

"Ah, if it isn't your grace."

His teeth gleam, razor white and sharp.

[adharma]

Mukuro sweeps an elegant bow, one that could promptly be swapped with a curtsy if he was feeling so inclined. It was, perhaps, an oddity among those at court but no certain tragedy. He was rarer than a male Black Widow even, but that was neither here nor there on a day like today.

"I'm honored that you chose to recognize me, your Dark and Shadowy Excellence of Nobility."

And he even managed to sound sincere.

[byakuran]

A brow lifts, "Oh? Are we being formal today?"

Without waiting for a reply, Byakuran mimics the motions of Mukuro's bow, white jewel glittering like a wolf's tooth pressed against the hollow of his throat.

"I, too, am honored to be in the presence of such . . . charm."

[adharma]

"I try to always be formal in your presence," Mukuro replied cheerfully, pulling into another bow as he spoke, and when he lifted his face it was a careful girl's smile.

[byakuran]

A congenial smile answers Mukuro's, "Do you really?"

[adharma]

He laughed in response. The laugh shakes his entire frame, and it would be amiable except for the way he smiles, all knives and shadows. "Oh. Yes. Of course. Nothing less for the White King, isn't that true?"

[byakuran]

Taking a moment to stretch, Byakuran lifts his hands over his head and peers at Mukuro with an almost thoughtful expression on his face, "Well, we can't have that."

[adharma]

Mukuro arranged his face into surprise, "We can't? Why not? Respect is something you've earned by now, I think."

[byakuran]

Byakuran drops his arms and gives a tilt of his head, an amused smile bloom across his lips, "I hadn't noticed."

[adharma]

Mukuro shrugs, the movement carrying all through his body and begins to pace. He reminds other members of the court of a cat, looking back at Byakuran -- who would either be the cat's master or the cat's prey. No one has any judgment on that. "You should take care to. . . King."

[byakuran]

A laugh this time, followed by a meaningless gesture of the hand, "You're being coy, aren't you, Mukuro-kun."

It isn't a question.

[adharma]

"Coy? I suppose it would be coy. . . but only if you think it suits me," Mukuro responded, lightly, as if it were a suggestion. He followed Byakuran's hand motion with his eyes.

[byakuran]

"It seems to suit you quite well," Byakuran says, a playful note to his voice, "But then again being coy can be another kind of deception."

[adharma]

He took a pause, the amount of time it took to breathe out, and then took three steps closer to Byakuran. He invaded what might be called royal prerogative, or personal space. "Would I deceive you?"

[byakuran]

The question was wouldn't he, of course, but Byakuran paid it no mind &, instead, leaned forward with an almost whimsical tint to his smile, "You're quite forward today, Mukuro-kun."

[adharma]

That pulled a laugh from Mukuro. "Forward? Think of this as just another step in our relationship."
