It was wearisome, in a way, to be as he was. Not that he minded, Chrome’s body was hardly awkward, and she was quiet in the back of his mind. She was content, which was more to say than many people he had shared headspace with. He made a fist, and uncurled his fingers. Not quite normal, because as perfection as illusions were the other world (fleshy and uncomfortable) had a way of weighing them down. Ah, manifestations, perhaps he should say. Mukuro corrected himself, before turning his gaze on the Vongola Tenth’s home again.
How easy would it be to enter and take what he wanted? One scenario played out smoothly, made it easier than taking the cold from ice - just let it melt. They were so young in this game of thrones, so to speak. It was more than a little amusing, and (and even he could admit this) somewhat impressive to see how fast they changed. Chrome too, he had to include her in this, the Vongola Tenth’s Mist Guardian, what a slight girl and yet her strength of will was hardly something to be tossed aside. And in the other scenario? Despite Hibari Kyouya’s absence (how like the Cloud Guardian so disliking of ‘mingling’) there were still three factors he was in no mood to play with. The Arcobaleno, Reborn. Swada Tsunayoshi himself was a double edged sword, target and keeper. And… Mukuro found himself pausing.
And he found himself smiling, privately. Lancia. Not that it would ever be a contest between them, because Mukuro had made sure there never would be. How twisted that was, tied together in a neat package of a man. It would not be a conflict he would be wanting, however. He felt an agreement from Chrome, light, warm and careful, yes. Today they were not here to start anything, because it had already been started months ago (lifetimes ago…?) and there was no hurry to finish. If there was indeed a finish, he mused, tucking both his hands into his pockets, not for warmth but for something to do with them.
