My Birthday!

Dec 02, 2007 21:39

Today, I am 21.

That is all. :) No really, I'm procrastinating on an essay due tomorrow, so I really must get back to work. Damn school always getting in the way of my fun. XD Oh, well, guess I can't complain--I enjoyed myself Friday and Saturday. I definitely got home from school on Friday and lay on the couch all day eating pizza and watching "Ratatouille." Then went bra shopping with Sarah and Moumee because according to them, I have no "pretty, sexy bras." Huh. I don't really get the whole buying expensive bras and underwear thing when there is plenty of pretty stuff at Zellers and Wal-Mart, but hey, they were buying, so I wasn't going to complain! :D I picked out a pretty red one and bright purple one, with matching panties. ^_^ Then I went out to dinner at East Side Mario's and had some kind of seafood pasta. Mmmm, it was good. I've just recently been introduced to muscles--they are saturated in sauce. Sooo, sooooo good. Then we went home and decorated the little 4-foot Christmas tree my roommate bought. And ate icing-covered brownies. And watched "Hairspray." ^_^

I know I'm supposed to be an adult now, but I really still feel like a kid. I still want to stay up late, watch movies, not do my homework, and eat chocolate and cookies all day. :D And I think I was going to make this birthday entry more clever, but my brain decided to slow down. ;p Oh, no! It's already happening! I'm sliding into menopause!!

In conclusion, the next two weeks of school are going to kill me. Three essays to finish this week. First exam on Friday. Last two exams next Monday and Tuesday. Last essay due next Friday. Kill me. Just keeeel me now! *growls* But it's kind of funny because I made a random friend in the Environmental Study computer lab last week. See, the only good computer lab that stays open all night is located in the Environmental building and I've been spending a lot of late nights in there lately. So has another man named Barrington. He's an undergrad student like me, but about 45-55 years old. He's small and black with a friendly, infectious smile and a silver beard. He seems to know everyone who comes into the computer lab and often someone will sit down next to him at his computer and just sit there and chat with him for half-an-hour. He also seems to work in one of the cafeterias on campus. He's apparently working on some kind of thesis. I just like him because he's just so warm and approachable. And he shares in my late-night pain. You've also got to admire a man at his age going back to school to improve his career choices, or to go in a new direction. I don't know if I could do it.

I was also highly amused when he came up to me early Friday morning--maybe 5 am?--made the universal sleep gesture (folded hands under your cheek) and told me he'd be in the Coffee Shop on one of the couches. And he just trusted me to guard his stuff. XD And don't worry, guys. There are heavy alarm systems built into the computer lab, so if you tug on any of the computer cords, the police come running. So hopefully I will not get attacked late at night in the computer lab. And I trust my new friend Barrington. ;)

P.S. Rich, I'm in ur Friendslist, makin' friends with ur friends. XD *waves at behindpyramids*
