aahh! i have been to two family reunions in the last week and a half, spanning basically the entire western united states (by which i mean british columbia and texas, which are each their own country). the first (vancouver) was funnish, but not really fun because we were getting together to have a sort of memorial service for my aunt who died of ms last november, but it was nice to see dad's family again. they're cool. then i had my last week of chemistry and (surprise, surprise!) i got a solid A. which, considering it was the easy version of the class, isn't all that impressive. then this friday, off to texas. jesus christ. i mean, i love the people and all, but ENOUGH OF THE TEXAN ACCENTS ALREADY!!! but it was pretty fun. basically, we got there, had a party at grammy's house where i met family of whom i'd never heard before, stayed a night there, went to texan presbyterian church the next morning, went to the lake meredith resort, stayed the night, and left. basically. now, i would have brought a swimsuit with me if i'd known that lake meredith was actually a lake, but, being from california, i assumed it was just called a lake. well actually it was more of a pond, but they had a zip-line and paddle boats and a rowboat so that even if it was over a hundred degrees there, you could at least swim. i got to see my cousin bobby (the bassist) and talk some shop, kind of, and i met my cousin julie's boyfriend andrew who is now my official hero. aaahh! too many people. there were like 35 of us squeezed into one tiny lodge. and i completely failed at zip-lining, so i just went and watched the baseball star cousins try to go down the zip-line and catch a soccer ball as they dropped into the water. and then we had a flight to denver on the tiniest, scariest plane i have ever been on and i seriously thought we were going to fall thirty thousand feet and burn to a crisp, and then we had a 3 hour layover there, and got home at 12:30 this morning. but the upside is, i read tons of wodehouse and am now addicted to the wooster series...so in the spirit of the dim-witted bertie,
tinkerty-tonk! (see you later)
