Dear Santa,
This year, I'm not asking for much. I just want the world, in the following ways:
1.) Give me peace of mind, St. Nick. A large helping, please, to ease me, in not having to worry that my students are going to be hungry, hurt, or cold over break.
2.) I'd like a Christmas miracle, if you can swing it. That somehow men with hateful hearts wake up unable to be hateful or violent. That they somehow hear the angels singing Glory Hallelujah and their hearts rejoice in turn.
3.) I want a shiny new bailout, too...for the food banks. Fill hungry stomach and lonely hearts. Nobody should be without at Christmas.
4.) Put some generosity in my stocking, Santa. Preferably the kind with "Pay It Forward" engraved on it, so it keeps going long after I use it.
5.) Can I have about a million cuddles, Santa? Not for me, but for all the lonely animals who want so much to be loved in a happy forever home. Let them know the Christmas spirit extends to all creatures.
6.) Just a few more...I'm almost done. Wrap some Hope in shiny wrappings for everyone. It will guide us all through the tough times ahead.
7.) Most of all, I would like a little box of Faith. The kind I had when I was a little girl, that people will always be good, that prayers are always answered, and that random acts of kindness and senseless beauty are everywhere.
Santa, if you can bring me these, I will not ask for a gps system, or a new pair of shoes. Put these under my tree this year, and I will continue to try my best to be a very good girl, and use them well.
Thanks!
Vicki
