Ian The Evil & The Super Communicators
I had a really great day today. Started with a thing I made last night. *evil laugh*
You see, I thought everybody at work could use a good laugh at the start of the work week. And what better way to do that then to poke fun at Ian the Computer Tech... Heh...
So I created this..
Looks a lot like him actually..Heh..I printed it off at home and took it to work. I took it up to Digital Imaging where I have made quite a few friends and showed it to them first...They laughed there asses off... Ian is quite popular..He is a big partier and knows everybody... He likes to be a smart ass too, and really likes to give people the gears. I figured it was time I gave a little to him for once...
Well, Lynn took this image and I tell you what...This image was ran off I dont know how many times and circulated through out the building in a matter of minutes. Mind you, it is a printing company...Rileys turn around time should be fast... ;)
Anyway.. I took a copy and I hung it on the big coffee machine where everybody always stops. People were laughing so hard at this.. Ian came in to work through the back door and was stopped by Donna from Estimating....She is pure Irish and he is pure scott...They have some good run ins sometime...At any rate..She had a copy and the pleasure of showing it to him first... He asked "Did you do this?" and she said "Oh, no, Wish I had but no...Ryan did this." And Ian shook his head and laughed his ass off.
He came to my desk pounding his fist into his hand saying "Sooo somebody in Pre-flight is looking to start a fight this fine Monday Morning.." I grinned and slowly looked up at him and folded my hands and then said "Really Ian?? It's hard to imagine anybody picking a fight with you...a person could get kilt doing that..." And then we laughed really hard...
All through the day people were coming to him asking who did this and he pointed to me and said "Thats the man who did that.." And they would come up to me and say..Man that was great..it made my day...
Jessica and Ian like to joke around too and she said "That was just brilliant wasn't it" And Ian said.."Absoultely it was, one of the reasons why we hired Ryan...He is smart, witty, and creative..."
Made me feel great.. :)
Calgary Corporate Challange
Later on in the day...I got an email from my friend Kelly... Awhile ago he asked me to enter into a T-shirt design and Team name Contest for Bell Communications for the Calgary Corporate Challenge. Its an annual competion between corporations... The theme this year was Superheros...(right up my alley)
So I designed this...
Kelly loved it and submitted it...And told me he would get back to me on it...
Today at work I got this email from him...
Corporate Challenge Design Logo :(
Well I think we are going to use some other guys design I it was quite ingenious really - he used the superman logo and put Bell and our logo inside of it, and called the team the “Super Communicators”, sooo sorry about your luck.
P.S. I will be getting a gift certificate on Friday to give you we should go for a “celebratory and give you your prize” beer this weekend! Gratzs Man! I have a shirt on order for you but they won’t be in for some time yet, I’ll try and scrounge up some other stuff for you too. Told you it was going to win!

Man oh man...I was at work and super busy when I got your email and saw the sad smiley at the end of the subject line...And I was like..crap..I dont want to open this email...So when I got a breather at work I took a deep sigh and opened it...And started to read...When you said this "other guys design was ingenius" I was like...Sigh...figures...
And then when I read how this guy had gotten the job with something exactly the same I wanted to take my finger and mush it into my eye and swirl it around a little... Then of course it hit me that you were refering to my design...I was a little slow this afternoon...LOL...
I was then so excited..Ran out to customer service and said that Bell had chosen my design and they said..."Good job Ryan..Congratulations...Now can you look up a file for us... (They really don't understand what it means to somebody like me) So I ran up stairs to Desktop Imaging with your email I printed off and burst in and Tammy and Cory and everybody else in Desktop and Scanning looked at me and I said..."I got some good news, anybody care to hear?"... And of course they were all ears and I then read it word for word and they of course laughed at the part "sooo sorry about your luck." And then they all cheered.."Way to Go RYAN!" WOO!" (They do understand what it means to somebody like me, cause they are people like me) and then Mike said "You should get them to give you a new cellphone with 1 year free airtime" We all laughed...
It was so great.. Thanks again for all your help... I really appreciate it...This is so excellent!!
And yes, we should defenitly go out this weekend for a few drinks. Where would you like to go? I don't really know any place except Murphs across from Rileys.
