It's been years!

I got all nostalgic tonight and browsed around my own abandoned LJ, and thought, what the hell. I'll give a shout-out and see if anyone shouts back :)

It's okay if no one does, though. I don't really expect much, since I've been gone for so long.

But anyway, Happy Holiday to us all! :)

I'm doing pretty awesome, I guess. I lost *my* job, though, and have been unemployed for *ever*, Shelly. Blah. I'm looking all over the place for a decent job in design, and meanwhile I've been doing translations.

I've been translating Cosmopolitan articles from the American magazine into Hebrew for the Israeli Cosmo (yes, there is such a thing). That's a LOT of laughs, I can tell you. As you can imagine, it's not the most feminist of publications - it's pretty much in contrast to everything I believe in. But hey. A girl has to eat and buy more Buffy DVDs (I'm kidding. I have all of them).

My baby musical has been and gone... We've had three epic performances last April, to a full house. it was unbelievable. I was very excited and moved and crazy and proud. It was THE AWESOME. One of a kind. Nothing like it. We were going to have a few more shows, since there was great demand.

And then we got a call from... wait for it... FUCKING FOX representatives in Israel. And they shut us down.
And I cried.

And Shelly, I still cry! :(

That was a huge thing we've done. I really wanted Joss to hear all about it :) But, well... fans make plans and the devil (=Fox) laugh.

...i'm awful glad you're working...but, man, Cosmo?! that has got to be hard for you! do you ever get tempted to make some, um, improvements? *G* or, i don't know, add in a line about how maybe *he* could make *her* happy?

I CAN'T BELIEVE FOX SHUT YOU DOWN! well...okay, i can...still, their uncompromising greed and sheer bullheadedness still surprise me. PLEASE do send me links! i've only been able to imagine the brilliance of your musical, (i never had any doubts it would be The Awesome!--i've kinda been waiting for Joss to blog about it!), and i would LOVE a bit of visual confirmation!

Yeah, Cosmo is pretty much exactly how it sounds. A lot of articles about a lot of issues and advices and experts... and everything is pretty much boiled down to "give him a blow job". Most empowering.
Let me tell you, the first time i went from a day of translation to my shift at the TA Rape Crisis Center... it was a very "alternate universe" moment.

FUCKING FOX. There is no limit to their evilness. They just can't see a fan having fun fanning. They want our money, not our creativity.

I've started this epic mail with explanations about plot and characters... and it turned into a massive thing and I haven't finished but now i can't bring myself to let it go and just send as is. And my computer broke. And my dog ate it. But really - i'm working on it a LOT and it's coming. Promise.
