[Mihai's awake early, and headed out first thing after he's left that message, and House 33 might note that suddenly, they're out of canned goods. Mihai's got them all, and after a trip to the weapons shop for a very specific item, he'll be out in the forest, placing those cans in random trees, on the ground, and wherever else he can reach without falling and breaking a hip.
By sunrise, Mihai will be on the roof of the barracks, loading a sniper riffle. Some might be upset with him practicing so close to the village, but it's necessary. Mihai hasn't used one of these in years, and though his aim is still good, he needs to be ready in terms of the actual conditions. Picking out targets while not hitting civilians is better practiced now, as opposed to waiting until he's actually on the battlefield. And he's not actually firing toward the village, but the forest beyond it. Someone who sees him might note he's actually pretty good, getting the feel of the weapon after the first few shots.]
