"was wollen wir jetzt?" " 'rum fahren!"

o gott, die Freude des Fahradfahren und deutsche Dorf Landschaft!

so yesterday the group pulled together for one of those insanely long day trips that we like(?) to do. to a city called bremen and a little village called Worpswede, famous for an artist commune that existed there turn of the century and carries on in certain facets today. bremen was pretty cool

that's roland the something. he's facing the typically impressive cathedral across the square, representing the power of the citizen or some such nonsense. but! he's got spikes on his knees.

i'm so proud of them for actually just leaning over the stair bannister like i asked. such good kids.

but worpswede was amaaaaaazing. a gorgeous little hilly village, with that wonderful little village magic that never gets old no matter how many little varieties of german villages one sees. but the best part, we spend our day exploring it on bikes. MAN bikes are the best. MAN OH MAN i missed riding bikes.

one of our destinations was the farmhouse turned artist colony:

one of the guys who founded this place i totally fell in love with. beautiful jugendstil/art nouveau etchings and paintings like

not to mention he was pretty cute

so. this is basicly what i want my life to end up as. some version of this, but maybe in vermont instead of germany.
