Bourgeois- n. a person of the middle class; usually used to mean respectable, ordinary
Caoutchouc- n. crude natural rubber as it comes from the plant
Doldrums- n.pl. parts of the ocean near the equator where the winds are light or do not blow at all; a condition of feeling sad, bored, etc.
Esther- n. in the Bible, the Jewish wife of a Persian king: she saved her people from slaughter. the book of the Old Testament that tells her story.
Fowler- n. one who hunts wild birds
Goliath- n. in the Bible, a giant killed by David using a sling
Hutch- n. a pen or coop for small animals; a chest for storing things especially, a kind of moveable cupboard
Integument- n. an outer covering, as a skin, shell, or rind
Jesus- n. the founder of the Christian religion: also called Jesus Christ
Khedive- n. the title of the Turkish rulers of Egypt from 1867-1914
Legerdemain- n. the clever tricks of a stage magician; trickery
Marshmallow- n. a soft white, spongy candy made of sugar,gelatin, etc. and covered with powedered sugar.
Negligible- adj. that can be ignored because it is small or not important; trifiling
Offal- n. the waste parts of an animal that has been cut up for meat, especially the intestines. Rubbish;garbage;trash
Paramecium- n. a tiny water animal made up of one cell, that moves by waving the fine hairs or cilia on its body
Quoin- n. the outside corner of a building, or any of the stones in such a corner.
Rachel- n. in the Bible, Jacob's second wife, the younger sister of Leah.
Sexton- n. a man whose work is to clean and take care of the church, ring the church bells, etc.
Taboo- n. the act or practice of making certain persons and things scared so that they cannot be touched or talked about
Ultimatum- n. a final offer or demand, especially in dealing with another in a dispute
Vehement- adj. full of deep, strong feeling; intense. acting or moving with great force; violent
Wainscot- n. panels of wood on the walls of a room, often only on the lower part
Xylem- n. the woody tissue of a plant
Yawl- n. a sailboat with the mainmast toward the bow and a short mast toward the stern. a ship's boat rowed by oars.
Zircon- n. a clear mineral colored yellow, brown, red, orange, etc., often used as a jewel.
okay you guys, this took me awhile because I was bored. So i randomly open the dictionary on each letter and these were the first word I saw, kinda odd how some of them have to do with the Bible, and some are really gross (offal). But anywho, here are some random words of wisdom:-)
