[Name] Tsukasa Amou (previously "Israfel")
[Age] 17 (human years
[Birthday] March 10th (the day he arrived on Earth)
[Faction] Eraser
[Time taken from canon] Post-manga
[Description] Tsukasa is a very effeminate young man with short blonde-brown hair and large, long-lashed violet (o-or sometimes brown) eyes. He is also extremely scrawny for a 16-year old, which does little to alleviate the teasing he gets for his appearance... Most of the boys in his grade can’t even tell his gender because he’s "too pretty". As an Eraser the boy has wings, although since he was a higher level of angel he originally had two sets of wings instead of one. However, he lost the set on his back, which in turn left a set of scars over his shoulder-blades that he is very ashamed of. The
remaining set will emerge from either side of his head (yes, his head) and can reach past the boy’s feet.
As an Eraser, Tsukasa’s clothes change when he taps into enough of his power. His outfit consists of several long, flowing white robes that are adorned with various crosses.
This is what he looks like in this "uniform".
[Personality] Becoming very gentle and soft-spoken after his memory is erased, there is not much Tsukasa actually dislikes. He only has a tendency to become upset at the mention of his amnesia, but later begins to accept who he truly is once he remembers his past. While he does not like the fact that he has the ability to kill and destroy as an Eraser, he is always ready to use his healing powers for a comrade in need.
Although he is really a bit of a shy, easily-flustered pushover, Tsukasa can (and will) stand up for what he wants to protect. In fact, Gabriel notes that before he was cast out of the Eraser faction Tsukasa claimed that, "Fighting for my friends... That is my one and only pride." Overall the young man is very likable and gets along very well with others. While his quiet nature might make him come off as cold or snobby at first, a brief conversation with Tsukasa will reveal a very compassionate person who will do almost anything for anyone. He becomes very loyal and obsessed with any person who is willing to become his friend and he would literally sacrifice himself to protect them.
It should also be noted: Upon occasion, Tsukasa’s "true nature" will come out and he will become just as cruel and ruthless as he was during his days as Israfel. This sort of happening is not too common but it certainly can happen when the young man is put into the heat of battle.
[Canon] As part of the Eraser faction in the Aquarian Age, Tsukasa was at one point known by the of "Israfel". A brutal and cold fighter, he would carry out his orders without question and only confided in one other Eraser, the angel Gabriel.
Since Erasers are technically bent on destroying all humans, Tsukasa starts out as an antagonist. He attempts to kill the main character Mana and her friend Kaname, and succeeds in killing Mana’s parents. However, the girl’s abilities as a type of psychic known as a "Mind Breaker" awaken due to her sorrow and she in turn releases Kaname’s abilities... Turning him into a demon known as a “Darklore”. He eventually overpowers the angel and tears out one of his wings- forcing Israfel and the other Erasers to retreat.
Because he was also Mind-breaked by Mana, Israfel’s personality begins changing once he returns to the Eraser ship. He starts refusing to hurt anyone and even rips out the other wing on his back, claiming that he "doesn’t want wings covered in blood". Later he is rescued from captivity on the ship by Gabriel and agrees to leave the faction to stay on Earth.
Crash-landing on Earth with a weakened body and severe case of amnesia, the young man is found and taken in by a priest/teacher named Tomonori Nakaura. Ironically, Tomonori is a member of another faction, known as WIZ-DOM. Given the name "Tsukasa Amou" by the priest, the former Eraser begins a new life with no idea of any of the things from the past. However, when Mana comes back into the picture and battles begin again, his memories and abilities slowly begin to return. This time though he decides to work not with the Erasers, but instead with several new friends with Mana as their shared Mind Breaker. Together they plan on stopping the faction wars and bringing a happy end to the Aquarian Age.
