[There was a loose string on the angels coat. A fray hanging off. Cas wouldn't have noticed it if he hadn't been sitting there, talking to Dean, feeling broken.]
I won't be bothering you?
[Cas asked softly, crestfallen. He did want to see Dean. And it was strange to him, to want something like that.]
[Castiel said softly, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips. There was a sound of wings flapping, a gust of wind and then Castiel was across from Dean in the motel room. He looked tired but he still held the cellphone to his ear.]
[It took Dean shutting off his own cellphone for Castiel to notice he was still holding his own, looked at it, and shut it down as well. The angel slipped the device in to his pocket, shoulders slumped and weighed down with the troubles of the world.]
Angels do not tend to rest.
[Cas muttered even though he was moving closer to Dean and taking a seat where he was instructed to. Story of Castiels life. Follow Dean Winchester until the end.]

I was hoping I would hear your voice.
I hope you are doing well.
This is Castiel.
Goodbye."

[He pauses.] Are you hurt?

[Cas said, still just as softly. There was another beat of silence, two, three and then]
I had to kill my brother Verchiel.

You were close to him?

....Yes. He was almost to me what Sam was to you. He was the youngest in my garrison. I watched him grow.

I am growing so tired, Dean.

Of course not, Cas. C'mon... Sam's out at the library, but I'll be here. Got a couple beers out, one with your name on it.
