Compass by whereupon Supernatural: Sam/ofc, season four, R. 3,160 words. It is the first week of November, and he is walking, and he cannot remember why. In very belated response to a prompt by santacarlagypsy.
That was sweet, poetic made me literally flail as it hit all my mythology/poetry/storytelling bones. The powers of spells, the power of stories, sometimes all the same...
And the apples made me happy, for reasons that you will understand when you read Ch. 3. I swear I didn't steal it. Even though it's beautiful.
I love this so much. If only their story COULD have been stopped or sideways-ed.
I'm so glad that you liked this! The metafiction and mythology aspects were such fun to write, and I'm really happy that they were enjoyable to read, too. :)
(And I love the beauty of the apples in Chapter 3.)
Haunting and intelligent as always. I loved Catherine's reflection on her role and the age-old curse of the seer, and Sam returning 'to his brother' as if saying he is headed home - all of it true. :)
Hmmm...kind of like how I had to backspace it out of my comment. ;) I loved that the parallel was so clear. It came through, which is skill on your part.

I always know when I see your name with a fic that it will be worth my time, and a revelation. As always, you amaze and satisfy.

Hee, you would not believe how many times I wrote "Cassandra" instead of "Catherine." Because it fit . . . ;)

Happy Holidays! (if you do that kind of thing)

(And embarrassingly belated -- apologies for that -- happy-holidays wishes to you, as well! I hope 2011 is off to a good start for you.)
