4:40 am = post once I get some sleep.
Edit-
Ah, much better! So as there wasn't really an update yesterday, I'm combinding it with today's.
Not much to really report yeaterday- watched some videos then went to Plunker's to pick up some goodies. Oh, as promised, the Scrumpy bottle pics!

The Archer's is just there for a size comparison.

Haa haa, Scrumpy is so very high class. Especially when you're drinking straight from the jug. But it's really yummy; it doesn't taste alcoholic at all! (Of course, that may have been the Strongbow's fault.) And yeah, the jug really is 2.5 litters. Don't worry, I didn't drink it all last night, there's still some left.

We hit Blue Note, which was really fun. Came back once they kicked us out and hung out in Emma's room till 4:30. Dom left early though, he wasn't doing too well, so it was just the three girls. Fun fun.

Today, booked my

shore excursion. And here they be!
Colosseum, Trevi & more-
After travelling by coach from Civitavecchia to Rome you will be met by a local guide from where your tour begins. The visit proceeds along a classic itinerary: Carcalla Baths,Circus Maxim, Marcello Theatre and Piazza Venezia finally stopping close to the Colosseum. From here we begin the walking tour with an internal visit of the Colosseum, eternal symbol of Rome built between 75 & 80AD on Emperor Nero's private lake. This visit to the interior will allow you to discover the beauty of such an ancient monument. Next to the Colosseum is the Arch of Constantine, the biggest and best preserved ancient arch erected in 315 to commemorate Constantines triumph over Maxentius.  From Caesar on, all emperors left a sign of their empire in the area that connects the Colosseum to the Capitoline Hill and Venice Square.Passing by Tito's Arch there is an opportunity to enter the Roman Forum from where you will be able to view and learn about the ruins of the Forum, Nerva, Caesar, Trajan and the imposing Palatine hill.

After some free time for lunch or further looking around the tour will proceed to the Trevi Fountain, one of the masterpieces of Baroque Rome and on to Piazza Di Spagna, seat of the first European embassy established in the city permanently. Here is the renowned Barcacchia fountain similar to a half submerged boat, works by Bernini and also the famous Scalinata di Trinita dei Monti.  Finally we reach the Piazza del Popolo, designed by the architect Valadier crossing the most exclusive shopping area in Rome. From here you will be transferred by coach back to the ship late afternoon.

Please note that this tour is completed on foot whilst in Rome and includes entry into both the Colosseum & Roman Forum
Discover Florence -
Florence was founded by the Romans and in the 15th Century was ruled by the Medici Family, later to become Grand Dukes of Tuscany. The city is home to a wealth of art and treasures. On arrival to the city you will be taken on a walking tour covering all the key sites including the fantastic Ponte Vecchio. You will also have plenty of free time for lunch, shopping or wandering through the narrow streets and taking in the atmosphere of this fantastic city.

Menorca on horseback - With bus transfers to a local riding school, we set out on horseback for a unique nature experience in the beautiful Holm forest, surrounded by a typical Menorcan farmstead. This is a leisurely ride and you will not need previous riding experience to take part. Following your exploits, you can satisfy your appetite with some traditional Menorcan specialities, from meats, cheeses and the traditional sobrassada pastry to jams, honey, cakes and soft drinks. Duration of the ride is about 50 minutes.

Mount Etna and Taormina-

Dominating the skyline above Sicily, Mt Etna is Europe's largest volcano soaring to heights of nearly 3300 meters. Towards the summit, there's an opportunity to view the amazing craters before a well earned lunch at 1900 metres ! We then descend to the enchanting hill top resort of Taormina. This tour includes time to admire the famous Gothic Corvaja Palace dating back to the 15th century and Taormina's impressive amphitheatre with its extraordinary acoustics and stunning location.  You will have free time to wander through the streets, take our advice, try an ice cream!!

Pompeii-

Walk through the streets of this once bustling town where life stopped in an instant with the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD. Buildings and even people are perfectly captured and since excavated to provide a still-life snap-shot of 1st century Roman life.  Enter the houses of the middle class villagers, see the theatre and the main square.  A fantastic morning, where you feel part of the history.

Power of Pisa - A chance to see possibly the most famous landmark in Europe, the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  This however is not the only highlight within the city.  You will have time to discover Campo dei Miracoli, one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the marble Baptistery.  There is also free time to do some shopping, venture to other parts of the city centre or simply have a cappuccino in the square

Yay! Have I mentioned how excited I am for this trip yet?  I can't wait, this should be so much fun!

Tonight it sounds like we're going to go see Iron Man, which I've heard is really good. Um...that's really about it for now.
~Later!
Edit-
Iron Man was really good. I laughed a lot, usually at moments where laughing wasn't actually called for. I got some weird looks for it. But other than that, nothing else to report. So I'm going to bed as I need to be up early-ish. Night.
