It's 10:30. My next exam isn't until 2. T_T (crying face, for those who don't know it.)
Although I supose I could head back to the room, but really, what am I going to do there that I can't do here as well? Plus we all know if I head back I'm done for the day. Maybe I'll grab a video and watch it on one of the computers/tvs they have around. I do have my headphones with me, and it'll make time go by faster. We shall see. Umm...that's really all for right now. I just wanted to whine a bit. So...yeah.
Oh! The actual exam, I could talk about that. Um, it was pretty easy. I knew the questions going into it, and although I didn't review as much as I should have (aka, at all) I still knew what I was talking about. Even if I didn't remember all the names of the charaters in the books...whoops. Yeah...I should probably refresh my memory on the Noir stuff, as I don't know the actual questions. But that would be the smart thing to do...
Right, off to find some kind of deversion to kill the time. Obviously will update later. Oh, and for all those who want to lose even more faith in the intelligance of people,
this short little article is...enlightening. Add one more thing to the list of stuff I need to watch out for when a teacher. LAME!
11:30 Edit-
So, I decided to start looking into trips. And I'm thinking, as I don't want to go everywhere on my own and only get pictures of the scenery, minus myself, that I might do a
cruise. Plus side- More people around, I see more things, and it's not too far from what I paid for over a week in Scotland, minus food of course. (Okay, I don't actually remember. It might have come to $400 instead of £400 (yay for school computers with the pound symbol on it!) I'll have to check, because it may be more. Although the flight and food is included, and excursions to places go from £20 for a half day up to £60 for a full day out. Hmm...) Plus, I'm assuuming other English speaking folk will be around as well, which means a bigger comfort zone. I don't know though, anyone have thoughts on the matter either way? Otherwise I'm back to the plane to bus to hostel to walking around/taking the bus everywhere by myself until I come back. Decisions decisions....Oh, they even pick me up at the airport! Okay, this is sounding better and better. Quick, Daddy! Point out the flaws in this plan/downside to it! Otherwise it looks like I'm hitting a cruise pretty soon.
Right, back to invesegating I go. Later!
Back again. OMG, the shore excursions you can do? Wow, just wow. I checked all the places and there's only one stop where nothing really appealed to me. But look at this one: Menorca on horseback- With bus transfers to a local riding school, we set out on horseback for a unique nature experience in the beautiful Holm forest, surrounded by a typical Menorcan farmstead. This is a leisurely ride and you will not need previous riding experience to take part. Following your exploits, you can satisfy your appetite with some traditional Menorcan specialities, from meats, cheeses and the traditional sobrassada pastry to jams, honey, cakes and soft drinks. Duration of the ride is about 50 minutes.
How cool is that?! Okay, so unless someone finds a HUGE issue, it looks like I'm booking me a cruise tonight. I'm so excited about this now, who cares that I'm going alone! Right, I'm going for real now. Really. I need a lunch break.
...Hee hee, I wonder if I have enough summer clothing for a cruise....
Edit yet again- (and with only 1 and 1/2 hours till the exam. Yay!) I'll probably make al lthe cruise rants/thinking into a cut after the exam, so it takes up less space. But it stays like this for now. 'Cause I say so.
New dilema in plan making. If I do a 2 week trip I see tons more, but on the other hand, I also am spending about twice as much. On the other hand, look at the plans:
2 weeks:
Embark:Fly to
Palma, Majorca
- Olbia, Sardinia
- Civitavecchia, for Rome, Italy
- La Spezia, Italy
- Villefranche / Nice, France
- Mahon, Menorca
- Palma, Majorca
- Messina, Sicily
- Naples, for Pompeii, Italy
- Livorno, for Florence & Pisa, Italy
- Toulon, France
- Barcelona, Spain
- Disembark:Palma, Majorca. Fly to UK
vs. 1 week:
Embark:Fly to
Palma, Majorca
1.
Olbia, Sardinia
2.
Civitavecchia, for Rome, Italy
3.
La Spezia, Italy
4.
Villefranche / Nice, France
5.
Mahon, Menorca
Disembark:
Palma, Majorca. Fly to UK
But, it's also cutting it close to my return flight home, I'd be back at Derby on the 14th. with the 2 weeker. Erm...yeah, I'll just stick with a 1weeker. It's probably better for my situation...even though I don't get to see as much cool stuff...ALTHOUGH, if this is my last "Big trip" then it's okay, right? Hmm...on one hand I don't get to see everything I originally wanted (Amsterdam, Paris...don't remember what else I wanted to see...whoops) but on the other hand I get to see more of the smaller places, which gives a better feel to a place usually. Right, poll time! What do people think is a better plan, the one weeker or the 2 weeker? Also, I could still take short little trips to the big stops I wanted to hit, so all is not lost there, I'll just be more focused on the cruise. Arh, I don't know what to do! So yeah, bit the poll that I'm about to make as I write this and give me your thoughts. Thankies!
Right, closing the cruise site before I find more stuff to make planning even more difficult. Later! (Does the poll show up correctly? All I see is code, not an actual poll. Let me know if I screwed up, k?)
Nevermind. The difference is £741 vs. £1322 . (Stupid extra charge for being by myself. Grrr.) I don't have that much money to blow on a 2 weeker. Although it would be fun...No, bad Vicky! Do the responsible thing and stay with the cheaper cruise! (Although I do wanna see Pompeii....And there is always student loans...and working my bum off this summer/during the school year, and not spending ANY money next year on silly things...And honestly, when am I going to get this chance again...debt is a quarentee either way, so why not have one last big adventure? Although that price doesn't include shore excurtions, so it'll end up being even MORE money...)) Okay, I'm still torn, even though I shouldn't be. Someone talk some sense into me, please?
3:16 Edit-
Aww, so I realized it doesn't matter which cruise I do, as I can't do either. My credit card limit isn't high enough to book either of them. Which sucks. (Yes, profanity is approprite for right now) I was all excited about it and everything...damn! And I was totally gonna do the 2 weeker as well...I'm super bummed out right now. Nothing I can do about it I supose...guess I should just look for some other trip to do instead...lame.
I'M DONE UNI FOR THE SEMESTER! WOO HOO! And no, no alchohol was involved at any point during the exam taking today. I spent all my time looking at possible trips T_T (see about for sad face reason). A little worried that I was done my Noir essay in about 35 minutes, but as I had nothing else to say on the topic it seemed silly to just sit there. So yup, I'm done. Let the summer begin!
Last edit of the day-
Went into town with Kat and Dan as Kat wanted to spend some money she earned being an extra for a film of some type. Me and Dan pretty much mocked the fashions in the stores and bought milkshakes while she did her thing. Came back and just vegged, then watched QI in Emma's room for a bit. And now, I think I may try to go to bed as it's another early morning. But we're going to Alton Towers, so it's totally worth it. (Funny thing, the person who was pushing for us to go this weekend isn't even coming along as his friend can't go. Weird) So...yeah, that's it for the day.
~Night!
