So last night Erin and I had made plans to watch House. Ben calls and wants to take me out for sushi, but since I have plans with Erin I tell him he can join us and bring sushi with him. Well he didn't find anywhere to get any near my house. Fortunately I had researched and found a place like 10 min. away. So Erin gets to my house and then Ben and we go look for the restaurant. We ended up at this Korean restaurant. I don't think it was the right place. We go in there's no one there we decide that that's because it's a Tu. and we're in the middle of Glen Dirtay. We're given menus that are completely in Korean and don't really offer explanations ... we look over them for a little while before asking the lady what stuff is. Well, her English isn't so good, so we all pick something that we think sounded ok when she was explaining. Then while we're waiting for our food we're watching some "Korean drama" basically a soap. There was one guy on there that looked like Jackie Chan, but i didn't want to say anything while the Korean ladies were around, because he's Chinese and i didn't want to offend them. Then we were making up dialog for everything that was going on. It was fun. we wait maybe 15 min. and the food is ready. As we're leaving one of the ladies is like "See you next time!" All of us are polite about it, but as soon as we're outside ... "she's optimisitic." The food smelled good so we were encouraged, but then we started opening the containers (which weren't marked) to try and figure out what was supposed to go to who. Well mine was pretty obvious as I got Japanese noodles with something unidentifiable in a black bean sauce. By the way on the menu that was marked as Chinese food, but they were definitely Japanese noodles. Any way, we ended up trying each others food as well, none of it was too terribly good, and most of us had stomach aches by the end of the night. Needless to say leftovers were not kept. Also, I won't be venturing into cultural foods, without someone to tell me what i'm eating, again any time soon.
