Ohio politics are so screwed up. Well, maybe no more than other states, but right not it sure seems like we are. Good advice for any politician is never ever let anyone buy you a round of golf, send you to a sporting event, or loan you a vacation home. It seems like that is what lots of these guys are in trouble for. Although there is also the general contention that the way it works is the Republicans (who control all of politics in Ohio right now, but Dems don't get on your high horse cause 25 years ago I think the Dems controlled everything and had some nasty corruption issues themselves) help the preferred contractors get lots of unbid contracts at inflated prices, and in return the contractor has to make a healthy donation to the coffers of the ohio republican party. Pay to play. A great way to run the government. But I suspect it pales in comparision to the cronyism that existed 100, or even 50 years ago in most government. I think that kinda stuff was just considered the normal way to do things then. So maybe the reason things are looking so bad is because we are making progress.

I never really realized until yesterday (newspaper article) that I am officially part of Gen X. I always thought of Gen X as younger. But I am just an older Gen X person. I don't think I have a lot in common with the stereotypical Gen Xer though. Although the article did say that lots of Gen Xers have found themselves etc and are not just drifting anymore. Maybe I need to rewatch Reality Bites, since that is supposed to be a Gen Xer movie. Right?

A TV which has snuck up on me, and become one that I enjoy (although I have not paid enough attention to know when its on, so I usually see it by luck) is 2.5 men. It is very good. I also have become very fond of King of Queens. Arthur is the best.

I've got to figure out how to psot pictures. CAn you do that with a free account?

I would like to visit Isle Royal (I think thats the name) in Lake Superior. It sounds interesting. Lots of moose, and about 30 wolves. But no bear. Its about a 40 mile long island. The moose migrated in (swam maybe or walked across the ice?) around 1900. There were no predators for 50 years, so they were having a great time. Then in 1950 a pair of wolves walked across the frozen ice, and hit pay dirt. So now the populations sorta see saw up and down. The moose are down to like 540 this year versus 750 or so last year. This is the lowest moose population since 1997, when 2400 of them died in one winter (it didnt say why, bad winter I guess). The last several years the weather has been going against the moose, so they are due for a break.
