22 October | a dark and stormy night
Haruhi knew that inevitably, the rest of the host club would find out about her fear of thunder. It was only a matter of time, really. (Or how long Tamaki could keep a secret.)
A thunderstorm had come in suddenly during a club meeting once - black skies, pelting downpour, crashes of thunder and flashes of lightening, the whole bit. She'd immediately shriveled up on the couch and buried her head in her knees, clapping her hands over her ears.
The couch dipped under weight on either side of her, and suddenly the twins were settling a blanket across her shoulders and huddling next to her. Mori pulled two chairs close and Honey placed his bunny in her lap before hopping onto one. Kyouya had put down his charts and calculations and was setting out cups of tea while Tamaki ran around closing all the curtains in the room.
By the glow of candlelight, the warm weight of tea in her stomach and of those around her, the stories and the chatter, Ouran's host club helped her get over her fear.
And before she knew it, the sun was shining again.
