14 september | this road is all you’ll ever have
After everything, Elizabeth saw Captain Jack Sparrow almost as often as she saw her husband, however, she did receive numerous letters and trinkets from far off lands. She named him godfather to her son, not deluding herself for a moment that Jack would keep to the promise he made at the birth. She knew he would make a pirate of her child.
Five years after her first parting with Will, she opens a letter from Jack to find it filled with news of her beloved. Apparently, he had come across The Flying Dutchman some hundred miles off the coast of Portugal. His words were few, and his script barely legible, but said everything in the world to her.
And, underneath Jack's untidy signature, inked in neat script, was Will.
She held the letter to her face for a long time, careful to keep her tears from wrinkling the paper any further, swiping them away with her hand as a smile played along her mouth.
