part one: sometimes I don't get you

Hello there, The Internet. So clearly I have not been doing many journal comics lately, which is sort of a bummer because they are a thing that I enjoyed doing. So, since we last spoke a bunch of things (mostly one group of things) happened, and, unfortunately for everyone you pretty much need to have heard my whole life story for any of them to make any sense.
And so, I have decided that I am going to try and post my whole life story.
This first bit, which anyone can read, is pretty much just gonna be catchup in sketchbook page form, no comics and I won't be rambling on too too much (this part doesn't count). The rest, however, will be quite a bit more personal (and boring, probably) and since it involves other people (no one any of you know, I think) I will feel better about it if it is friends-locked. If by any chance you are reading this and not on my list thing, feel free to comment and I will almost definitely add you, mostly I like the idea of knowing who is reading.

ANYWAYS, here is what happened:

So the weekend after that last comic happened, Francesca came to visit again, which is always way too much fun. She showed up Sunday night and some fun was had (though mostly I was just wandering around lost till I found everyone), and then I drew this after class and before everyone met up again on Monday for way more fun. (I came back to this one and continuted to work on it later)

This was drawn much much later at Grumpys, after most of the fun had already happened. It is sort of hard to tell what is going on, I know, but that is a door to the top left and a chair on the other side of a table with some drinks on it to the right. There are lots of people who moved around and were drawn and drawn over.

After that, painting class is pretty much all that happened for awhile. These are sketches for a painting which might be about surgery that I am currently working on. It is coming along pretty well, I think. Though it doesn't look very much like the thumbnails.

I opened my little idea book at random and found an entries for smoke and for jellyfish on facing pages, and I liked the idea of trying to do both. So far this is only a tiny painting very much like the drawing on the right (which is the view from my classroom), and has no jellyfish or smoke.

This (it is very hard to tell) is after a drawing I did towards the end of last year, of the EV building and people in bubbles. I thought it would work better as a large scale painting, but it'll require a lot of tests and research to try and make the bubbles look good, so it probably won't happen anytime soon.

And these are some random characters that I have had kicking around for ages. Still no clue what if anything I will ever do with them, or if they have anything to do with each other.

So, after what might have been two weeks of very little happening, I decided to go visit New Hampshire. As you may or may not know, that is where my family currently lives (my brothers are leaving for college in like a week) and where I finished highschool. I had to get up at like six, but the bus ride there was way less crowded and unpleasant than the bus ride back was, but my diskman died halfway there.

I did not draw very much while I was there, but here is a sketch of my brother for you (the one with the brick wall was of the other one).

Alright, that is all for now, but part 2 should be up either much later today or some time tomorrow.

sketchbook, life story
