My Thoughts Were So Loud I Couldn't Hear My Mouth

trading winds for borrowed time
sting in the eyes from salt water spray

sunshine pours over the glistening deck
as the ocean pushes against aging boards

blue horizon, white clouds
sparkling air

he searches on
he searches on

picking up
howling winds, foreboding sky

as the black clouds approach
raindrops attack the weary crew

no longer sting in the eyes
but sting in the lungs

rushing water
racing hearts

the captain sits alone
waiting to sink into oblivion

the search is over
the journey is complete

the crew continues to struggle
unaware their destination has been reached

the captain wished for death

when you marry the sea
it's till death do us part
