the lights are turning green
driving through
that's another cue
to run and hide

good luck's just a warning sign
that something malicious
is on its way

unless those green lights get stuck
and the whole thing goes to shit
cars piled up in intersections
or patiently sitting behind red lights
while the ones with all the luck
pass by

the one's inside the stationary cars
have all the luck
they've got time to spend
with the one's closest
they're not racing off
they're listening to the same song
on the radio
singing the same words
with conviction

but unless those green lights get stuck
we're all stuck
waiting our turn
