That was a shit move, and he knew it. And needless to say, Dean was pissed, but he knew that screaming at the kid wasn't going to get him anywhere. The umpire seemed to be dealing with the situation alright, so Dean was gonna focus on his son and deal with bitching about the kid later. So he did what he did best and scooped his son up off the ground, carrying him back towards the bench and sitting him down on his lap so that he could look him over.

"I know, buddy, I know," he sighed gently, before leaning back from Ben so that he could have a look at his face. "Lemme have a look, alright?"

"It hurts." Yes, that was a missing tooth causing a new lisp in Ben's voice and he snuggled closer, hugging his father tightly.

"I know it hurts, but I can't fix it unless I know what I'm lookin' at, alright?" He didn't mind hugging his kid, but he needed to see what the damage was. He placed his hands gently on the sides of Ben's face and started to tilt his head back so that he could look at him. "It'll just be a minute."

Ben whimpered as Dean held his face and tilted his head back. His right eyes was winced closed and there was a cut on his cheek. The red mark that would be a bruise want in a diagnoal line from next to the eye, down his cheek and to his mouth. Thankfully, his nose was safe, but one of Ben's top teeth was gone and another was flapping easily back and forth with his breathing.

"Oh, boy," he sighed, looking him over with a bit of a frown. "I think you might have to see a doctor, buddy. Just to make sure he didn't break something."

"Hey, hey, hey, calm down, alright?" Dean said with a soft sigh, keeping Ben close and rubbing his back lightly. "They're just gonna look at you, alright? No shots."

"No shots," he sighed. At least, none that he can think of. "I promise."

"Can we get ice cream afterwards too?" He was pouting now.

"Hell yes," Dean said with a nod. "We get major ice cream for this. In fact, maybe your mom'll meet us at a restaurant with your brother and we'll have dinner out. How does that sound?"

Ben sat there, his feet swinging as he tried to open his good eye wide and watch the game. "If they had let me pitch, I woulda struck Duncan out."

"Sure you could, kiddo," Dean said with a nod, placing his hand on Ben's shoulder as he placed the phone to his ear, waiting for Lisa to pick up on the other end.

Ben kept watching, snuggling close to his father. Such a daddy's boy.

Meanwhile, when Lisa answered the phone, the cries from the other son could be heard. "Dean. Something wrong? How's the game going?"
