Since this is the time of year when people begin planning their end-of-year writing commitments, we want to let you know what's in store for the comm. This year, instead of an exchange, we'll be hosting a Winter Wishlist Fest. What is a wishlist fest, you ask? Basically, it's a no-pressure, no-obligation, fun way to share gifts with your fellow community members. In early November, we'll put up a post where community members may comment with their wishlists. You can ask for any kind of fan work you like -- fic, vids, art, icons, even remixes or sequels to your own works. Anyone may then come and fill those requests any time during the month of December. Posting a list doesn't obligate you to grant wishes, and you can grant wishes even if you didn't make a list of your own. (Of course, the fest will work best if people give and receive, so if you do post a list, we hope you'll considering making a gift for someone else.) Our hope is that a lower stress event like this will maximize participation from our membership - Star Trek fandom has been a little quiet lately, but our ladies still need some love!
We are still ironing out a few details, but here are some tentative dates for planning purposes:
November 1-November 14: Wish lists posted
December 1 -December 31: Wishes granted
January 7: Master list posted
Start thinking of your wishes!
