ok, FINALLY managed to get rid of a few months of writer's block. -_-' so...here's the result. i know it's long but please read it and comment if you can. or else i shall DAMN YOU FOR ALL ETERNITY. that, or just be kinda sad... :'(
(no name as of yet)
when long ago the world was set
to be a vast and bloody stage,
(though not a single poet yet
had held a pen, or seen a page)
there was (though he has many names)
a carpenter, a puppeteer
who would create our faults and fames
our greatest joy, our darkest fear.
and so he set out to adjoin
our happy births, our bitter ends
with all we could from time purloin:
our loves, our passions, and our friends.
but god could never make a man
alive by just condolences
so made conflict a veteran;
we live and die by what he says.
our greatest fear: our detriment.
and so we choose to stay inside;
but 'fore we know-our lives are spent
because we 'neath our shadows hide.
but while just hiding dull may seem,
and looks to rear an ugly fate;
what better can living redeem?
(a famous and worthy debate)
there was a man who lived because
he was afraid of what he'd find.
but he feared more what never was
"things never could be!" crossed his mind.
he searched for any form of truth
but simply sought to know the world
so to this poor, unknowing youth
great miseries were soon unfurled.
now all he'd seen in his duress
had been from life's great comedy.
he'd met the world, knowing much less
that there was also tragedy.
and this confirmed all that he knew
(that perfect is a fairy tale)
yet he knows not-in this he grew;
ignorance adding to his bale.
so if you go in search of life
be mindful-what you will find there
is love, is joy, but also strife;
lurk ugly things as well as fair.
this stage may show you worlds at cost
to make you laugh, to make you weep.
but learn nothing, and all is lost
our life's defined by what we reap.
whew! -_-'
