Lizzie closed the door behind her mother, before making her way over to where Happy was still sitting with Lucky. She still wasn't sure whether she was more amused that Happy had actually liked a guy she was dating or that at how pissed her dad was that the dog had overruled him, but this was a good thing. Not that Lizzie hadn't known that Lucky was a good thing previously, but it was nice to know that she eventually was able to pick a guy that had earned her dog's approval.

She knew that her father's approval wasn't one she was going to get. Ever.

She crouched down behind Lucky with a sigh, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. "Didn't know you were coming back to town so soon," she said, turning to face him more. "Something happen?"
