i just put spike down. he'd been crawling around in circles and gagging when he tried to eat.

he always hated car rides. today he just laid there and took it.
besides the fumbling on the exam table, he was the most behaved i've ever seen.
she said he didn't fight the needle and took it peacefully. he was sleeping on my lap minutes before. i made it all the way til i had to give the go ahead to put him under even though i knew the whole time and made everyone at home say goodbye "just in case".

i leave for north carolina at noon tomorrow. thank god.
