I woke up with Wes all curled up next to me and smiled at him sleeping. He looked... happy? I wasn't really sure. I thought so. I snuck outta bed and went to the bathroom, taking a quick shower and slipping on some of the other cool clothes he'd bought for me before finding cereal to eat for breakfast.
Just figured I'd let him sleep some more and stuff.
I was eating some Cocoa Puffs, flipping through the channels on the TV, when I frowned and realized it had been a few days since I'd checked in with Willow. I called her up, cereal in one hand, phone in the other, and tried to calm her down.
"No, everything's cool here. I got to help out - kinda - with research. No, nothing bad happened to me," I sighed. See? This was why I never got to help out in Sunnydale. They either didn't believe in me, or... I dunno. Thought I was just a kid who couldn't help out which, hello! I totally could! Buffy had been called as a Slayer when she was only a year older then me!
Why did she always get the special treatment and I got nothing?
"Yeah, Wes is fine, but he's asleep right now so I'm not waking him up." I rolled my eyes. "I'm not waking him up! Geez... how is everyone?" Cuz, they were still a part of my family after all. I just... didn't wanna be around them much at the moment. Guess that was true of most people and their families, though.
"Uh-huh... uh-huh... oh, good, ok. Say hi to Miss Kitty for me! And... oh, all-waiting, hang on," I said, pushing a button and answering, "Hello? No, it's still Dawn, Cordelia." I rolled my eyes. Honestly. I so wanted to kick her or something.
"Huh? Angel's back? As in back, back?" Great. I'd get to deal with him when we went to the office now. Wahoo. "Yeah, yeah, I'll tell Wes once he wakes up. Gotta go, ok? Bye." I pushed the button hard to hang up with her even though she didn't know it. I would know it.
Another button. "Hey, Willow? Gotta run, ok? Cereal and Tom Cruise movies wait for me. Yeah... ok, I love you too. Talk later. Bye." I sighed as I flung the phone anywhere. Angel was back. Which meant Wes would go into work and... I didn't know what it meant for me. Angel might not want me there.
Cordelia didn't sound all that well on the phone, either, now that I thought of it...
