Faith was really starting to wonder why she was sticking around in Sunnydale. Sure, during the day it wasn't that bad, if a little boring. But nights were pretty much the epitome of horrible. She had luckily made a few friends, including someone who had an apartment that she could crash at during the night, so she didn't have to worry about Sunnydale's 'night problem,' but she didn't just want to hang around their home during the day, which was why she was hanging out at the bus station. If she were a normal kid, she would probably be in school or maybe hanging around the Espresso Pump after classes. She wasn't normal though, although she had no idea just how abnormal she really was.
She was actually laying on a bench at the moment, popping M&Ms into her mouth while hanging around. No one she knew was available right now (even the kid she met at the diner, Oz, was in school), so she was basically wasting away the hours until someone was available to hang around with.
What she was doing to pass her time was people watching. For such a shitty town, people still seemed to pass through an awful lot. She couldn't imagine why anyone who didn't have to be here would come here at all. The main reason she was still here was because she had no money to go elsewhere, and she had made a few friends to keep herself protected, so there was little reason to go just to have to start all over again. She kind of wondered if other people living in Sunnydale were in similar situations. Stuck here because they had nowhere else to go, so they just stayed inside at night and hoped nothing bad happened. Kind of depressing, when you thought about it too much.
