The Anamoly of Dreams

Okay, so those of you who REALLY know me, know what I want to do in life. That is, simply put, write music for films. Getting into the industry is so ridiculously hard, however, I'm not sure if this can ever happen.

To try to jumpstart my career, I got into the game-developing community, because, incidentally, I really enjoy the music from various video games, cue Final Fantasy, DooM (originals), and so on. So far, that's been going excellently. I've worked on jobs ranging from $50 to $500, and I've loved every second of it. The inquisitions have kind of died down of lately, but I also haven't been pursuing work as hardly, given the whole college situation. Now, I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever have what it takes to be a film scorer. I LOVE what I do, especially when it comes out really well (I am very critical of my work, and I don't send anything off until I'm 100% satisified with it). I've done music for more than 15 games, rounding out to 500 songs (just that I have encoded as mp3, I cannot imagine my total). The Spirit Engine has 75 tracks, in itself, and it's sequel is approaching 120! You can listen to that, here.

So here is a formal shoutout to anyone that's working on ANY SORT of independant film, be it for class, or anything. I'm going to put up flyers around campus, soon, I think, although I cannot imagine how many people on campus are in need of such a service. We don't really have a film major here, so I can't say that I'll have a lot of biters. Who knows, though.

For those interested, my most downloaded track is Funky Roll (Orchestrated), although I'm not entirely sure why, but it is an orchestral version of the intro to the most popular game I've composed for. Impastable is a close second. (??) Happy Goblin Suite is a closer third, and is seemingly christmasy. (We Three Kings, a little bit haha) Black Magic (New Album DEMO) follows, and the next track is off by more than 100 downloads, so, yep.

Anyway, that's my life as of now. I've got a few projects I'm working on right now, and no news that I can report on publicly. :O

composing, dreams
