I need to start by saying - I haven't been reading much lately. There is a simple but unsatisfactory reasons for this. I got an iPod Touch for my Birthday. And on the iPod touch, I have the Kindle Reader. The intention was to make book reading easier. But it also made blog reading easier. So instead of reading books throughout April and May, I was reading blogs. I typically do a lot of my reading in bed at night, and when it is just too easy to pop onto the internet...well, you can see what happened there.
So June I resolved myself to reading again.
11. Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris
I bought the Kindle edition of Charlaine Harris's 10th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I read through it pretty quickly because they are like the literary equivalent of Crack - not good but you just can't stop. I originally thought this was going to be the last book of the series and I'll be honest, when I closed the back cover I was disappointed. Really, Ms. Harris, that is how you end it? Then I learned that she was actually contracted to write three more books for the series. I have mixed feelings about this. I am glad the series didn't end this way, but I am also thinking the world does not need 13 Sookie Stackhouse books. But I will read them.
I am deep into my 12th book and really enjoying it. There is always a catch 22 when it comes to a really good book - I can't put it down because it is so enjoyable but then I don't want it to end. I'm halfway done now and I'll post once I am finished.
