So Here is Your Christmas Card, Hope you Like it

Dec 10, 2009 10:24

You know those typed letters you get in cards from people you haven't really spoken to in a year? Well, here is my version. I apologize that I am kinda lazy about sending out cards. I have to admit, since moving to Atlanta almost 7 years ago, things get pretty hectic during December with working and shopping and traveling that Christmas Cards have fallen pretty low on the list of priorities. So low they are off the list, in fact.

So, instead, I blog my Christmas letter. Hope you like it.

This year has been a great one for oneandonlymatt and myself.

We have spent a lot of time in Asheville, NC working on our Tumbleweed Tiny House. It is about half way done and we expect to have it finished by summer of next year.

Matt and I celebrated our 14th anniversary in February. In March I celebrated by 34th birthday by going to Asheville to do some work on the land. We went back to Asheville for Matt's 35th in April. Later in April, our dear kitty, Piglet, turned 8 years old. She is still furless, for anyone keeping track.

We spent a great week in Asheville from June 27th to July 5th with many of our friends from both Detroit and Atlanta joining us to do work on the house. It was so much fun we hope to do it again in 2010.

In August, we were visited by Matt's mom and a good time was had by all. Later that month we went to the Len Foote Hike Inn here in Georgia. It is a several mile hike to get to a remote lodge and was a lot of fun. I would recommend it for people who are into that sort of thing.

Then in September we celebrated Dragon*Con - a giant ball of geeky Sci Fi and Fantasy fun. Halloween for Adults, some say. Way more fun that people should be allowed to have.

Right after Dragon*Con, Matt and I flew to New Orleans for the Lions opening day game. Who would have known then that we would have 2 wins this season? Keep up the good work, Lions!

In October we enjoyed a trip to the Decatur Beer Festival with friends, also becoming an annual tradition. My mother also game down to Georgia for a visit and we took to her Asheville to see the town as well as Mt. Matt.

November, of course, was Thanksgiving where we flew to Michigan to enjoy the holiday with our families.

This month, we are getting ready for Christmas and looking forward to our holiday vacation in sunny and tropical Detroit Michigan.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday season, no matter what holiday you might celebrate. See you all soon!

Love,
Laura, Matt and Piglet
