I notice that I don't keep a calendar but I do tend to record my upcoming plans in LJ. I also notice that I seem to use LJ more as an actual Diary of sorts. Everyone once in a while I post something of substance, but mostly I recount what I did that past week or what I am up to coming up. So, here are both reports:
Well, my past weekend was spent at home. On Friday night,
onandonlymatt and I ate dinner at home and then went to see The Bourne Ultimatum. I still liked the first Bourne movie best, but it was pretty good.
On Saturday I got up early with the intention to do some scrapbooking and paint the trip around the back door. But then I started watching the Ugly Betty marathon on ABC Family. I never intended to watch it, but there I was. I did paint the trim on the door but I did that mostly because I could watch the show at the same time. I have to take the tape off tonight.
Saturday night, we met up with
justben and
radiantbaby for Ben's "reenactment birthday dinner". We had missed the first one because it was the weekend my sister was visiting. We went to Dominick's in Norcross for some uber yummy Italian food.
After dinner on Saturday we went to the Blue Olive by our house to have a nightcap (or two) while watching a little college football.
On Sunday, we decided not to go to church. Honestly, I am not sure what we are going to do about church. We've only gone to one service but it seems like they have changed the format to something that doesn't work for us. They use to do a "Story for all Ages" before the kidlies went off to Religious Ed. I like the Story for All Ages. Well, it appears that the story is now being told by the RE Director and she is a terrible story teller!
We went to Target instead and bought some things we need for the land. Then we went to the Derby to watch the third Lions game of the season. We were soundly stomped by the Philadelphia Eagles and played horribly in true Lions fashion. Hopefully it is just a temporary slump.
Tonight is the monthly Lectio Homerica. We will be focusing on Poseidon. Unfortunately, there is only one Homeric Hymn to Poseidon so we may have to read something else random in order to do three total hymns (we always read one to Hestia first).
Tomorrow we are meeting
earthmystic and his wonderful family for dinner. I am looking forward to it. We don't seem them often enough these days.
Thursday is the weekly movie night. We have extreme yumminess to offer
radiantbaby and
mtn_hermit.
Friday, Matt is going to see The Driveby Truckers with Chad. I will do some packing. The packing is so we can leave for Mount Matt bright and early on Saturday morning!
The plan for the land this weekend is for Matt to fill in one more of the septic pits and I will vacuum the little room. We will try sleeping in there, but it will be pretty rustic. We have plans to make it very livable, but that might take a while.
We also want to experiment with going into Asheville at night while we are staying at the land. We need to make sure we only have a few drinks and such. The beauty of Sante is that we can order a bottle of wine and only have a glass while there, and then take the rest of the bottle with us back to the land. Yay for North Carolina alcohol laws.
On Sunday we are going to get up early and leave to be back to Atlanta in time to go to the Derby for the Lions game. We were originally going to watch it in Hendersonville at the Original Sports Theater and Steak House, but with the first two wins this season, the Derby has been a pretty fun place to watch the game.
Hell, I can't complain about having a very full personal life! Now if only I didn't have to work the other 8 hours a day - I'd get a lot more done. But I guess I am working on that.
