Guess who is alive and kicking?
Hai.
It’s a good thing this blog isn’t a plant or a cat or something - for if it were, it would be long dead due to neglect. And I would hate to have blood on my hands because I was such a lazybones.
Actually, I’m so NOT a lazybones - mostly just prioritizing everything above being on the computer (with the exception of job hunting. My aim, thus far however, has been poor).
So. My sister got married this weekend. It was the most chill affair that I have ever been a part of. The vows were lovely. My sister got emotional - and let me tell you, she is not the type of person to spill a tear easily. The festivities were a lot of fun. Let me tell you about the kind of person my sister is - this little story, I think, speaks volumes about her. Her third-grade teacher found out that she was getting married, so she contacted a friend of hers who is also close with my mother, to wrangle an invitation to the wedding because she adores Amy so much. How awesome is that? I just… I love that. And it speaks to the type of person Amy is. People gravitate toward her. I can understand why… and I’m lucky enough to be her sister. I could not be more elated that the state of CA has legalized same-sex marriage just for the mere fact that my sister and her wife could celebrate and share their love with their closest friends and family (and third grade teacher. hee). Even family from the Midwest came out… in the words of my cousin, “It’s hard to resist a Lesbian pool party wedding” - how cute is that? So yes, it was a fantastic weekend… I love my family - and I’m proud to be a Californian.
