Visitation

So, mom and dad came to visit. Talk of Amanda was minimal. We had a nice time too. Dad has been fighting a cold all week, so mom and I let him sleep at my place while we went up to Hollywood. We took one of those double-decker Starline tour buses around Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Miracle Mile, etc. It was kinda fun being a tourist. The bus actually drives right by my office, so I pointed it out to Mom while we were there. I also had to point out the really cheesy mammoth statues in the La Brea tar pits.

Then we went to Versailles for dinner, a Cuban place across the street from my place. Dad was very happy to be able to buy bottles of their marinade to take with. In fact, he bought so much that the manager just lit up gave him a free bottle. Daddy was very happy. We spent the rest of the night just chillin at my place.

This morning we went down to Venice Beach. We got their a little early which had its advantages and disadvantages. Sure, we got a lower price on parking, but a lot of the sellers weren't set up or open for a while. Mom loves unique jewelry, seeing as she makes her own. I picked up a cherry blossom art print and adorable hair clip that was a flower with a little skull in the middle. Afterward, we met my mom's friend for brunch at Canters. OMG REAL HARD SALAMI! Not the fake crap you get at stores. It was awesome and I got two meals out of it. We walked around the Grove for a short while since...well...it's a short area. Mom stumbled upon this beautiful jewelry store and ended up buying two rings, which nearly blew my mind, but I guess the designer liked her and gave her a good deal. I saw a lovely $8000 bracelet and $4000 pendant...but I skipped. Nah...maybe next time. *eyeroll*

I'll let mom and dad buy me a vacuum cleaner. That's all I want, a good vacuum.
