Phew I'm pooped!
I ventured up to Burbank today to go to
Dark Delicacies to check out
BPAL's trunk show. It was actually faster to go to DD than the lab. Similar route really. I swung into McDonald's for brunch...and to keep warm...so when the bus came, I dashed out to get it, but the driver barely pulled over and took off right away. After spewing a few curse words and being snide with people handing out flyers, I strolled around Hollywood blvd. to kill some time. I saw a cute purse, but I was a good girl and didn't buy it.
Then some guy randomly approached me and said, "You are here!" to which I replied, "Yes, I am!"
The Trunk Show was insane. Because I missed the first bus, it took me another 30 minutes to get there. There was already a line, but they handed out numbers to keep things organized. I was number 54 which was towards the end of the initial crows. I had to wait around for a bit, but I got to sniff everything before I made any purchases. I really wanted to get this prototype called Nine Mysteries for Carlie's birthday, but they didn't have it there. Drat.
I ended up buying Samhain 2004 which really surprised me. I never really liked the Samhains, but this one was surprisingly nice. A very juicy, warm, autumnal apple kind of scent. Go figure. I was going to walk out with just that when the gals ahead of me both asked to buy the testers of scents that were sold out. I snatched up a second bottle called Ice Queen. Personally, I don't care for it, but I know that a lot of people want it which means I can use it either as a bartering chip or I can toss it up on eBay.
Dark Delacies is a really fun store. They sell lots of comics, books, toys, and accessories. It's almost all horror-themed. I love that they have these Kate Spade shaped purses with skulls. I also saw the most adorable skull and roses dog carrier. Makes me with I had a chihuahua.
