It's been a bit of forever since I've posted-posted and I think the weight of the time and the unwritten is making it more and more difficult to post. So this is my gateway post (like marijuana, not the computer). I'll post little bits of things rather than a doctoral summation of the past year+ over the next few weeks and see how it feels

About the only time I miss them is when I am so utterly flatout busy that I don't actually notice time in the day.
So by now you're all super keen to hear what awesomeness someone such as myself might use to marshall his resources at the mid-way mark in a given day... and here's where I shock or disappoint you.
Sandwiches.
Yes, that's right - 3 or 4 slices of bread (a slice being a piece with a width of approximately 1 cm - if you're eating things double that thickness, you naturally require less slices) with a filling that is easy to digest and absorb. At various stages and times in my life, I have used:
Peanut Butter
Apricot Jam (tasty, but does poorly in warm conditions and has a tendency to run)
Cheese and Tomato (cheese also does poorly in heat, and tomatoes have an annoying tendency to stain shirts ;)
Apple (refreshing, but personally tends to leave me feeling a bit hungry still)
Banana (sliced into little cross-section discs)
Leftover cold meats from dinner, often with a thin coating of Mayonnaise (salad dressing for you, I guess?)
All in all, peanut butter is probably my favourite from that list, as they are wonderfully easy and quick to make, I've always liked the taste, and they provide a nice firm protein boost at the right time with a suitably slow burn time.
If you're looking to "spice things up a bit" then a little bit extra on the side like a small bag of nuts and raisins or a small yoghurt tub should be all you need.
But seriously - eat lunch ;)

I'm not quite to that level of proficiency. Someday.
Lunch on a playground the the WoD sounds nice. However, I think that moths and roly-polys might be the preferred snack there.

Sand Witches are certainly conquerable by one of your Mastery level, I am sure...
But I too miss lunches on playgrounds with cobwebs and special molds in the box...
I have read your more-recent post as well and am now keen to hear more on your plans for Ged... If introducing him to your new "youth group" through your re-invented wheel is on the cards, I'm going to have to put my hand up and agree with another poster - You're a teacher I would have loved to have too.
Here's holding thumbs the new situation quietly gets better and better with age, just like moldy cheeses and cobwebbed crackers. And even if it doesn't I'll still be sat here waiting at lunch times to share what I have with you.

MMMMMmmn moldy cheese and cobwebby crackers. Just what the hoarse wisp of a woman ordered.
And thanks.
